What is solar water heater?
A:Solar water heaters use the solar energy from the sun to generate heat (not electricity) which can be used to heat water for showering, space heating, industrial processes or even solar cooling.
What is solar water made for
Solar water heater is made up of tank, stand and vacuum tube. Tank is used to store hot water; vacuum tube is used to absorb sunlight and then heat cold water; the stand is used to support the tank and tubes.
What is the working principle of solar water heater? And what is different from gas heater and electric heater?
A: The working principle is that vacuum tube absorb sunlight then heat the cold water, and then hot water up to tank and cold water that is inside the tank flows down to vacuum tube, based on such circulation until the tank is full of hot water. Compared with gas heater or electric heater, the source it relies on sun, more economical and environmental compared with the other heaters.
How to fill the solar water heater with water?
A: Three ways.
1) Install an overflow pipe, and turn on the water valve once you see water flowing out from the overflow pipe and turn off it.This needs to be manually closed. If the water valve is not closed in time, the water will always flow out of the overflow pipe. But this method is the most economical and does not require any extra accessories.
2) Install auto feeding tank on the top of tank, it charges water automatically by float ball valve inside feeding tank, it keeps tank always full of water.This is a bit like the principle of a toilet. As the water level drops, the ball valve falls off and opens the water valve until the water level rises to close the ball valve.
3) Install controller, its sensor can detect water level and temperature and show info on the screen, it can start feeding water and heating automatically. This is the most convenient and intelligent.
How does it work if there is no sun with rainy days?
A:The solar water heater has an electric heating interface, which can be installed with electric heating. When it is rainy, cloudy or when the solar energy is insufficient, electric heating is used to heat the water in the water tank.
What is difference between non pressure and pressurized type?
A:1) The structure and inner tank thickness are not the same. Non-pressure inner tank stainless steel sheet thickness max is 0.5mm, and pressurized inner tank min is 1.2mm.
2)The pressure of hot water is different.
For non pressure type, water flows out because of gravity, 1 meter produces a pressure of 0.01 Mpa, if the roof is about 7 meters from the ground, the hot water pressure is about 0.07Mpa.
Pressurized type, hot water outlet pressure is 0.6Mpa. Cold water enters the water tank, solar heats the water, and the hot water is to the shower, the water pressure is kept the same as the cold water, this is a closed system. But a TP valve is required at the hot water outlet to ensure safe operation of the system.
3)Different installation position. For non pressure type, we have to install it on the roof then it can work based on gravity, but for pressurized type, you can install in at any place, on the roof, or in the basement, on the ground.
What is difference between solar water heater and solar collector?
A: The name of solar water heater means with a big storage tank, for home use and is installed on the roof of a separate house to provide a hot bath for families of around 2-10 people. If it is a relatively large house, you can install 2-3 units for a home use.
For solar collector, no storage tank, only manifold, so we must install the storage tank separately. This is for commercial project which need large quantity of hot water, such as school, hotel, villa...
What is the life time of solar water heater?
A: Proper installation, normal use, proper maintenance, product life is at least 15 years.
How can we make solar water heaters work more efficiently?
A: Confirm that you install the solar water heater on correct direction, facing sun. Then remove dust covering on the tubes which will reduce the absorbing rate of the vacuum tubes.
